I’m going to pull back on my 3-4 posts per week cadence that I’ve kept up with lately to let my life breath for a couple of weeks. I’ve been under a tremendous amount of self-imposed stress lately and it’s taking a toll on me and the blog is the things that has to give for a wee bit.
I am part of a line dance team sponsored by my favorite local saloon and we are performing at a big festival: the Great American Celebration, over the weekend of the 4th of July in Spencer MA. I’ve got one dance on the list that I’m still shaky on and I need to spend some time practicing and doing some endurance work to make sure I can keep up with some of the younger girls. If you’re a local reader please do get in touch if you’re interested in going, I’d love to meet you in person!!!
In addition one of the coordinators of the event (a good friend) asked if I would be able to help whip up some pillows and cushions for a palette bench in the VIP area at the festival. I foolishly agreed before getting solid details. It’s 30 pillows and probably 12 cushions and with only 2 weeks to order the fabric, get it delivered and making the pillows I’ll be a bit stressed out as it gets down to the wire!
The 2015 New Quilt Bloggers blog hop is going so wonderfully and I’m so lucky to be involved as one of the co-hosts with three other ladies that have quickly become very dear friends but these types of online events take coördination, dedication and effort. I am so thankful we have a 2 week break already scheduled into these next weeks because I sure need it to come back refreshed for weeks 3 and 4 of the hop.
In offline life I’m also helping coördinate a group weekend trip for about 30 people at the end of July and trying to make sure I spend an adequate amount of time with my boyfriend, family and friends while juggling all these things while things are shaking up over at my full-time job.
On top of that I have a quilt I need to get finished, a family commissioned wall quilt (fabric came yesterday!), a quilt to make for a contest, a product I’m planning a Kickstarter for, a quilt along I’m planning for the fall and countless other projects that have had to be pushed to the side while I screw my head back on straight since it’s been spinning like a top since the beginning of June.
Here’s hoping you get a chance to enjoy some summer festivities these next few weeks (or winter activities for all my Australian friends) and I’ll catch up with y’all just as soon as I can!
Thank you so much for all you have done for the New Bloggers, Terri Ann! No wonder you need a break, with all the things you have lined up. Good luck with all the pillows, cushions and dancing!
Holy cow, Terri Ann, you sound so busy! I am so glad that we are having a break in the blog hop schedule now, and I hope the timing works out perfectly to get you a breather for all the other fun you have going on right now. 🙂
oh my goodness! I feel exhausted just reading your post. I think we can all be guilty of over committing sometimes.
Enjoy your break. I hope you come back with some extra juice in your batteries 🙂
And as a participant in the new blogger blog hop, thank you for all your work on it. I feel like it is a lot of effort just to keep up with all the posts, so I can only imagine the work as a host. I have really been enjoying it and have already gotten some great tips out of it, so definitely worthwhile.
Just popping over from quantum quilters. I’m exhausted just reading your schedule . A little like last year my uncle asked me to put together a few photos for another uncles birthday . It turned out he wanted and got a full scrspbooking album . Good luck with the cushions . And the dancing . And I love your family quilt
Me too. I need a break and we’re planning a trip to Lancaster, PA. Of course we’ll see some great quilts and eat some awesome ice cream. Have a nice break, too.
So glad you decided to act on the fact that you need a break. We often forget to take care of ourselves.
I didn’t even realize we have a two week break. Excellent! I need to catch up on life outside too 🙂 I completely understand the self-imposed stress thing!
Geez woman! You have a lot going on!! I hope you’re able to take the time off the blog to get refreshed. Blogging should be fun and definitely not stressful…your faithful followers will be here when you come back. I know I will be!!
Wow busy lady. I’ve cut back to 1 to 2 posts a week and staying offline as much as I can at weekends just to have a bit of a break. It is needed from time to time!
Sometimes it’s good to pull back and re-focus. I just recently took a couple months to lie low and it was just what I needed. Came back feeling passionate about my blog and my quilting. I hope you take this summer to catch your breath and we will all still be here! And … good luck line dancing! That sounds like so much fun, I wish I didn’t have plans 🙁
You are busier than a cross eyed cranberry picker! I need to go take a nap just from reading about everything you are doing Terri Ann.
Your sailboat quilt design is going to be awesome in your grandmother’s cottage. I can’t wait to see you bring it to reality.
You made me laugh a lot in your last reply, with your “oh how very fancy” face. Just wanted to say I love your sense of humor. Do not reply to this comment… just think of this as a micro-break. LOL
