Bicycle Leather Bottom Clutch

I did it! I finally got around to making that little clutch I’ve had on my list for months now. And guess what? I love it!

Bicycle Clutch

Isn’t she just darling? I added a little tab on the side to hook a wristlet strap but haven’t made one yet but I couldn’t wait any longer to share the finish!

Lovely little clutch complete with zipper & pocket inside

I used interfacing for the lining as well as the outer fabric and made a little pocket to keep my cash & cards separate.  After a week of testing the pocket is ALMOST perfect, there’s definitely some improvements to be made there.

Little clutch holds cell phone, lip gloss and money no problem!

This size fits my old iPhone 5 plus lip gloss and cards & cash no problem.  Unfortunately I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 yesterday and now I need to make the next version a bit bigger.  I used a faux leather and really love how sturdy this bag feels in my hands.

What a perfect size for a little leather bottom clutch!

The fabric is Fancy Free Bicycles by Riley Blake and I *may* have also picked it up in the pink variation at the sew & quilt expo I went to last weekend.

Have you ever made a clutch like this? It was so fun and easy to whip up.  I’ve got a couple tweaks and measurements to adjust on my next one but maybe little bugger will end up as a free tutorial some day.

  1. Hi Teri Ann
that clutch and it’s contents are perfect! Love love the bicycle fabric and two tone-ness of it.

  2. Its so cute!!! I’m definitely interested in a tutorial. I keep trying different pouch tutorials but I haven’t found one that I love making yet. I always have trouble closing up the sides of the pouch near the zipper…I need more practice!
