I know, 22 days into the month, who is talking about new years resolutions now? No one! Well I wanted to post about two of my goals for 2014. I started both in December but they’re growth goals for the year to come. I’m turning the dirty 30 at the end of the year so it’s time to start accepting the things I can’t change and changing the things I can!
I have NEVER been an exerciser. I have joined gyms in the past, then I usually go twice (usually just once) then quitting. At the end of December I bucked up and joined one of my friend’s gyms. Now that I have a gym buddy I’ve gone a few times. To be honest I joined for the tanning beds so I could base-up before my January trip to the Caribbean but I can only tan if I workout first.
Now that I’ve gone a few times (1-3 times a week, though the 1 week was vacation and I don’t plan to make a habit of that) my goal is to run a 5K in the spring. I’ve download the app 5K Runner which 8 weeks @ 3 times a week will help me learn to run a 5K. I’m shooting to be ready after 12 weeks cause while the first 2 weeks of training hasn’t been too hard I know I’ll hit a wall soon and it will take some persistance to get through that!

Embrace my Curls
I have naturally curly hair and I’ve been fighting it for years. Brazilian blow outs, hair straighteners the whole deal. Well I’ve cut to the chase, I dyed it back to it’s natural color and am trying the natural curl markets. I’m thinking I might document the journey but I don’t know how I feel about posting that many selfies to show the progress…We’ll see!
So far I’ve tried the DevaCurl system. The book Curl Girl Handbook (also availiable in e-book format!) has been absolutely inspirational as I try and work with what what I’m naturally granted. I’ve read it cover to cover twice now!
